Always an outstanding stay! Visited: March 2002 |

I spent the last four or five Easter vacations at Playa Grande with my family (two kids and wife).
I cnn´t describe what we have felt for this hotel and its beach. It is just wonderful. The food, golf camp, and ocean views are what could describe the best of this hotel.
When you get to the beach and spend some time there with people, you will understand why our country is known as "La tierra que más amó Colón."
Once thing you have to try and see are the whales. If you come this time of year, sometimes you can see them just from your seat at the beach. |

Great Hotel Visited: March 2001 |

My girlfriend and I thought that this hotel was a great place to stay. The workers at the hotel were very friendly, but were very curious about my girlfriend because she has dreadlocks.
The food was excellent and if you get a chance try the Italian restaurant at the resort; it had very good food.
The only negative about the CV playa Grande was its location. It was about 90 minutes from the airport, so it took awhile to get there. It was also not too close to any town, so to go into town is a taxi trip. Taxi rates were posted at the front desk and the rates included round trip with the driver waiting for us while we did whatever it was that we wanted to do.
It’s a fun resort and you can't go wrong here.

I was here for my summer vacation. I spent most of the time in Puerto Plata. This place was wonderful. Everyone was very nice and the food was great.
The climate was the best and the beaches were beautiful!
I loved it, and will be going back. |

I enjoyed a fantastic vacation in July of '99. I was fascinated from the animation team and the whole staff. Joanny, why didn't you call me during your visit in Germany? I will go back here for sure this year! I say to everybody - go here and enjoy the best vacation of your life. Special greetings to the animation team!!! |

Excellent service and staff Visited: January 2000 |

Spent a great 8 days starting November 9th. The service and staff were excellent and the golf course was superb. Well maintained and beautifully manicured. The caddies were excellent, not pushy and know-it-all. Many interesting places to walk, road and beach.
The swimming was nil all the time we were there, no one was allowed in the ocean. The food in the buffet leaves some to be desired but the service was great. If you are a golf enthusiast put this place on your list, it makes up for the lack of water sports. |

Friendliest people in the Caribbean Visited: January 2000 |

I just arrived back to the East Coast, Canada, and spent 5 days with a group of 27 golfers on a convention at Play Grande. The comments were all fantastic about the challenge and beautiful landscaping of the course.
The resort is well layed out, however you should have lots of energy to walk to the beach. I was so impressed with the staff that I have already recommended this spot to many friends. Everyone is so helpful and entertaining that it made our short week all that much more.
If you make the smart choice to visit, say hello to Carlos from the whole Beaulieu Canada Group. |

We were very disappointed. Visited: January 2000 |

We visited here in August of 99 and since we were impressed with the hotel, we decided to hold our wedding here. We were very disappointed.
The quality of the hotel had diminished. Rooms and service were still good although many things were in disrepair. There was less variety of food and the quality was not as good as before. There were also fewer activities. We were treated poorly at the restaurant when we arrived 15 minutes late for our reservation and they had cancelled it, even though the restaurant was nearly empty. In many ways the service had diminished.
To mention some positive things, people were still very friendly, and they organized our wedding very well. |

Best holiday I've ever had. Visited: January 2000 |

We thought it would be a once in a lifetime experience but we ended up going back two years in a row because we enjoyed ourselves so much we really did not want to go anywhere else.
Ladies - do not be put off by the over-friendliness of some of the staff - they were all brilliant. The restaurants and other facilities were amazing and the beach, well words cannot describe the way it feels when you can pick your own coconuts!! |

It was so good I stayed! Visited: January 2000 |

My family and I have been coming to Playa Grande on vacation for five years now. In January, I loved it so much that I stayed! I became really good friends with one of the animation team members at Playa Grande, Kelly from England. So I moved to Rio San Juan, a nearby village, and lived in the local Dive Center, (Gri-Gri Divers) where I got a lot of help from the owners Mark and Sandria. Sandria’s cooking made it feel like home. I recommend you go there on a visit—I spent the best six months of my life there.
The animation team at Playa Grande is great; they all helped me so much when I first moved there. The person that I think is the most fantastic is Debbie Allum, in guest services, who was the closest thing to family.
I have seen most of the island now, and I guarantee that you will have the best vacation of your life at Playa Grande. The people, food, and of course the alcohol is amazing, as well as all of the sights. I will hopefully go back again soon, whether it’s to stay or on vacation! |

Wonderful, beautiful place to stay. Visited: January 2000 |

My husband and I went to Playa Grande at Christmas and had a great time. Everywhere we turned there was a beautiful site. We do not play golf, but we wished we did - it was the best golf course we had ever seen - the view from the cliff was spectacular. The people were exceptionally friendly and the food was good. Unfortunately, no shopping except for the gift shops which I wouldn't recommend - far over priced. |

Brilliant holiday!!!! Especially the animation team. Visited: May 1999 |

There was a party of 11 that went in May 1999 for a friend's wedding. We also went to see our friend Sara Yates who is married to Victor!!! They both work in the hotel.
The whole holiday was brilliant. Although the animation supervisor, Monica was not very friendly, the rest of the staff at Carribean Village were wonderful and I would go back there again.
There was plenty to do, day and night, and the people were very friendly. We also went into Rio San Juan and Puerto Plata which you must go and see as the Dominican Republic is a lovely country. |
