I read loads of reports about this place before leaving for holiday, and I got nervous. However, do not believe everything you read.
My family and I had a great time here. We met loads of people the same age (20-45). Also, the staff was great and friendly. Our rooms were clean and large (we had two adjoining rooms). The rooms were cleaned daily with fresh towels.
The food was okay. There were many choices. Also, there was always something going on at the poolside. They had an adult pool where you could relax with no noise from children. I have two kids, so I missed out on the peace - shame.
They also provided nightly entertainment. |

I've been home now for over a week, and I still can't stop talking about it! The Dominican Republic had everything we wanted to do on their doorstep! You can also just chill and still enjoy yourself without spending a penny!
I traveled across with my two teenage daughters and we a ball!
The people here were so friendly and welcoming. We were made to feel like they had known us all their lives. It was a holiday of a lifetime. It was unforgettable. |

I have just come home from the best holiday I have ever had. Don't hesitate to book this hotel.
The food was excellent, the staff was friendly and just marvelous all around. Also, the entertainment was second to none.
I went with my two kids (one is 18 and one is 11), and we all never wanted to come home. We will definitely be booking up to go again. |

We had a great trip, except the airport. Do not allow anyone to touch your luggage. I had to tip the crook who took me to a private cabbie in order to get my bags back off his van. The same guy then took us to our hotel shullte. I did not tip him. We arrived on Saturday evening and were the only english speaking people in the resort. That was not problem, we enjoyed the challenge of our spanish. The staff were friendly, especially the resturrant staff. The bartenders were not so friendly. The show staff were worst. Every evening they showed up, bummed cigarettes, but never put on a show. They just drank and went to the disco to play pool. There was no entertainment the entire 7 days we were there. The scuba gear was old and dirty. They had no bikes avble for use. The beach shuttle run was never on time, but the beach was only a 10 min. walk, which we made everyday. The two a-la-cart restaurants were good but each one only opened 1 day while we were there. There were no activities at the hotel during the day either. No vollyball, pool games, nothing. We were intent on relaxing, and that is exactly what we did. In speaking to others on our planeride home, their hotels offered much more to entertain their guests. If you are looking for a place to relax and not get bogged down in the tourist type activities, then Club on the Green may be for you. We would consider returning if for no other reason that to relax without the hustle and bustle of a larger resort. p.s. beware of Victor, he will try to get you into a meeting telling you it is resort info, it is really a sales job to get you to purchase a time share. We were promised free stuff, when we cut the visit with them short, their attitude was not good and I am still waiting for my golf shirts, beach bags and the like. |

I have to say the resort was very good, and the food was great. However, all the vendors took away from some of our enjoyment.
I bought a junior suite, and now I'm trying to sell it which is not an easy thing to do. I would think twice before you come here. |

I was a little leary when I first arrived at the hotel and thought, "ugh". But by the third day, I was having a blast.
The staff was great, the food was good, and if you are younger, you will meet a lot of people close to your age.
I highly recommend you go (it's cheap). |

We have been here five times since 1994. We also intend to go again in 2004.
Each time, we have enjoyed it immensely. The staff is always very friendly and helpful, and do their best to make our holiday enjoyable. We now also have friends here (Dominican friends), and we would love to have our home here - that is how much we like it here. |

It was really the best vacation! The hotel looked very nice and was clean. The food was also very good.
There wasn´t a single boring day. Every day was funny and absolutely interesting. The staff was extremely friendly and funny people. The music in the disco was good, and we enjoyed our "tequila-time", too!
I will be returning in August! |

It was the best holiday I've ever been on, and I have been around the world.
The staff was very friendly - always with smiles on their faces. The choice of food was endless, and I tried a little of everything. They offered their own kind of food and also offered an English-style menu for those who didn't like to try anything different.
The complex was beautiful, the grounds were tended to every minute of the day. The maids were great. They changed the bedding every day, provided clean towels, and kept the room just immaculate all the time!
The choice of drinks was endless, too. I enjoyed the pina coladas! The entertainment at night was great and the entertainment boys through the day were always friendly and polite. I would definitely come back to Village on the Green again. It was excellent. |

I traveled here with my aunt and mom. I am 18 years old.
We were all very impressed with the friendliness and activity around the hotel. The "Super Leaders" were always full of energy and made me feel welcome. It was also nice that they all knew some English.
With so much to do, we were never bored. The rooms were a little dark, but always clean, and clean sheets were put on the beds daily. The nightime entertainment was pretty good. I enjoyed the karaoke the most.
I would recommend this to any family with teenagers or to any college kids traveling. I don't think this was the place for honeymooners, though.
Also, I got my hair braided in the salon and they did an excellent job!
In addition, the food was always fresh and very good (but it did get old by the end of the week).
I hope you have as much fun as I did! |

This hotel is very nice. The lush greens around the villas are beautiful.
The beach is very nice. Someone was saying that the sand was brown and the beach was full of wood, which is not true at all. The beach was amazing and it was kept very clean (no seaweed). And of course the sand was brown, it's supposed to be that way; it's almost golden, it's very nice. Watch out for sand flies—they will bite if you lay on a towel in the sand. Make sure you have a chair.
The people were very friendly and the pool was always cleaned it was never awful to swim in. |

I really enjoyed my stay in Club on the Green.
The food was really tasty. The rooms were a little dark and we did find one lizard in the bathroom. I recommend not watching the television late if you have young children as the programs on the local stations were of a high adult nature.
The Animation staff was really friendly and always willing to help and make our holiday more enjoyable. The beach was great, but the locals do try and push their products on you.
I would like to say hello to Gregory, Arango and Papa Santos. I still miss you guys.
I am looking forward to coming back. |

Simply the best holiday ever! Visited: September 2001 |

This was just what the doctor ordered - sun, sea and alcohol. Club on the Green was so friendly from the minute you go there, especially the entertainment team (say hello to Pepe and Papa Santa), these guys make the holiday relaxing and fun.
Its a hard life getting up, getting your towel, going to the pool, having breakfast, going back for a sunbathe and then a swim to the bar for a beer. Lunch is anything from chips to pasta, lots of sport to choose from and then it was dinner and lots of alcohol to wash it down with while you watch the great evening entertainment, before hitting the club and playing pool until 2am.
Be careful of rip-off fishing trips. We got badly stung, as this time of the year the fish are on the run, so to speak!
This holiday was the best ever and I can’t wait to go back and relive it all again. |

This place was wonderful! I got off the plane and it was hot, and that’s how it stayed for two beautiful weeks.
The hotel complex was excellent, the staff (all but a couple) was very friendly especially the animation crew who kept the fun going all day and all night (Papa Santos, Pepe, Cello and the rest).
I had breakfast at about 9:30am, then sunbathe, beach volleyball at 10:30 till 12:00 then sunbath, lunch around 1:00pm and then back to the room for a siesta till 3. Then I’d go back to the pool for some more action time, maybe a game of beach volleyball or water polo then into the pool for some beer drinking till 7pm. Then I’d head back to the room to get ready for the night ahead. By far the most relaxing, hottest, fun holiday ever.
The beer is good and so are the cocktails. Golf is a little expensive but don’t go home without playing at least once. The evening shows were always different and on the whole very well put together.
I can’t wait to go back. Great, great! Book it now!

We arrived at the resort and everything was fine with our rooms, booking etc. The rooms are cleaned everyday and the maids were very friendly.
If you like many hotels located in close proximity of one another, this could be the right thing for you. We were a little bit disappointed, because on the beach you can't come in touch with the right Caribbean feeling. Too many tourists and the sand isn't white, but brown and the water isn't very clear.
You have to go out of the resort and make a trip to Sousua or Cabarete. They have much better beaches and better water for snorkeling etc., but be careful! The roads are very bad and don't take a taxi from everyone because it's too expensive. Just get in the taxis where 15 people are sitting together; that's very funny.
The service in the club was very bad. The pool was dirty and disgusting, but the Animators are very friendly and the animation is okay. Golf is okay, but the course is very simple and you have to buy a caddy! For playing 18 holes, you pay about $100.
Food wasn't that good, except in the Italian and Brazilian restaurant. You get your drinks in plastic cups (sometimes the cups swim in the pool) and the cocktails are without fruits and don't taste very good. The beer is okay if you get a glass on the other bar. The service crew isn't very friendly.
All in all, our holidays were okay for this price. We stayed 2 weeks and didn’t pay too much money for the resort, flight etc. It was okay, but I won't visit this club again in my lifetime!

This was the greatest holiday I´ve ever had!
We arrived at Puerto Plata International Airport and the sun was already burning or faces. The weather was unbelievable and Fausto "wie die Faust, nur mir "o"!" was so warm and friendly, it was incredible!
The hotel was very nice and clean, every area was open for the guests and we especially liked the front desk, without any windows and things.
The staff was really great - especially Papa Santos, Pepe, Franklin and "Mister Kidsclub" (I just don´t remember his name anymore). He was really nice and so good looking:-)!
The food was quite good, especially in the Brazilian and Italian "a la carte" restaurants, where we ate twice a week. Though the hotel had no club on its own, we were having fun at the "Crazy Moon" every night until the morning hours.
The entertainment pool was really cool, especially with the ability to drink cocktails, beer and other drinks in it...at the bar. Most of the time we were relaxing at the relax pool, which was prohibited for children, so we could have some quiet hours.
The beach was also really nice. We drove a jet ski once, which was so much fun. We would love to visit again and see all our new friends! We´re really looking forward to have such a holiday, the best we will ever have again! |

What a place! From the time we arrived to the time we left, the staff always made us feel welcome. The villas are well laid out with plenty of room and maid service that kept the rooms very clean and tidy.
The food is of a high class in all the restaurants, but book early if you want to eat in the Italian or Brazilian restaurants as these get booked up very quickly. Food and drink is available all day even if you’re on the beach.
There’s plenty to do both in the hotel area and on the beach, windsurfing, snorkeling, kayaking and sailing; you will never get bored. The nightly entertainment was first class with a different theme each night, which was never repeated within our stay.
If you play golf you have to play this course. You are not rushed you have to have a caddy who will give you advice on how to play the course. The downside is the cost--about £60.00 with club rental, but it was well worth it.
To sum up the Club On the Green, it was a well-presented, well run and really made our family holiday a time to remember in the Dominican Republic. We will most certainly be booking to go next year.

Me and my new wife just got back from are honeymoon. There are a couple of things you should know before you even consider this resort. Me and my wife got there for a quiet week away. Everything was good until the Thursday when a convention came to the resort. They were from Santo Domingo and just let their kids run free while they did their thing.
We had to chase lizards out of our room every day. The night before we left there were bugs that were at least 3 in. in length. We asked the front desk to send someone out 3 times and no one came.
The last two days were the worst, the locals had a long weekend and 400 of them decided to come to the resort. We had to wait in line an hour and a half for the buffet dinner. |
