El Marinique is nestled on a small bluff overlooking the beautiful twin bays of Las Galeras and Rincon in the small, rustic-fishing village of Las Galeras at the north-eastern tip of the Samana Peninsula. Just a minute's stroll away from the main beach of Las Galeras, el Marinique offers two fully-furnished apartments and three cottages in a lush, tropical garden ablaze with color. Being one of only four oceanfront properties on the village's bay, el Marinique provides you with a sense of peace and serenity. In addition to receiving outstanding guest reviews, el Marinique was chosen by England's "Woman and Home" magazine as the Caribbean's "best for unbelievable value." This is truly Dominican hospitality at its best.
The deluxe, two-story apartments feature an oceanview overlooking our garden from each apartment's second-floor sleeping loft with it's queen-sized bed and full-width balcony. The first floor features a living-dining room with a double-sized sofa bed, full kitchen, bathroom with hot-water shower and a covered, front-entrance porch. The cottages are one-room, Domincan-style with enclosed bathroom and hot-water shower; have one or two double beds, are simply furnished, clean, bright and airy and have lots of flow-through ventilation. Both the apartments and the cottages have ceiling fans and extra-large, screened windows to take advantage of the ever-present trade wind.
On the property, Nicole's Oceanview Restaurant and Terrace Bar has been featured in both U.S. and European magazines and travel guides praising the international cuisine and Dominican specialties served with Nicole's unique twist. The restaurant was recently chosen as one of the 10 best on the Samana peninsula. The open-air setting affords the caressing touch of the trade winds while you savor her mouth-watering offerings in the cool shade of the veranda and enjoy the best view of the bay in Las Galeras. Fresh seafood and aged steaks are her specialty.
Owners, Andy and Nicole will keep you as busy or as laid-back as you want! Activities range from swimming to whale-watching, to picnics on a secluded beach, day trips to area attractions or to simply lazing in the Caribbean sun on one of the twin bay's 12 beaches.
